Saint Paul, is a single channel video intended for screening and installation that will be created in several cities in Europe and America. This video also operates on the borderline between documentary and fiction. Its point of departure is a little known eponymous script by Pier Paolo Pasolini which transposes the life of the Apostle to the 20th Century — from one context of resistance to another (Pasolini was preparing to shoot it when he was murdered in the mid 70s). In the script, ancient cities have modern counterparts: Paris is Jerusalem, New York is Rome, Barcelona is Damascus, and so on. In the final scene Paul dies, not in Rome but in the motel where Martin Luther King was assassinated. The new film finds many counterparts to the Pauline archetype in the Americas.
